4 Month Well-Baby Exam

Today was Tyler's 4 month check-up. He's doing very well in all areas... but we already knew that :-P His motor skills are right on track, though Dr. Winters did encourage us to give him more tummy time (difficult now that he rolls over immediately when put on his stomach) and give him NO television time (huh?). We're trying on both ends, but maybe failing.... Mom and dad are working on it. SO- the exciting information everyone is sitting on the edge of their seat for (ha!):

Height: 25 1/2 inches (75%)
Weight: 14 lbs, 6 oz (50%)
Head: 42 1/2 cm (75%)

Tyler first thing in the morning, before his doctor's appointment.

Tyler after his appointment with his boo-boo bandaids! He once again got two in each leg and one oral vaccine. He was a trouper- not crying NEARLY as much as the 5 year old who went before us who had to be held down by two nurses while he screamed bloody murder. Even Tyler was nervous going after that little boy!! I think he cried just because he learned it was apparantly the thing to do in such a situation!! Also notice the wet shoulder- this was shortly after Tyler projective vomitted (note- vomit, not spit-up) ALL over mom and himself. What a mess!!

Oscar also had a doctor's appointment today at 8:30 this morning (yes, mom was very busy). Poor Oscar has been skinny for months now, which we attributed to jealousy over the addition of Tyler. I finally took him in to get a weight check- he's 9 1/2 pounds (much lighter than Tyler!), and way too thin for his long frame. We learned that he has two teeth with "cervical lesions", analogous to human rotten teeth. Poor Oscar has been in pain for months apparently (vet says it really hurts!). He's now on antibiotics and kitty narcotics and is going in for surgery to get the teeth removed on Wednesday. Poor Oscar!! (note he has a boo-boo bandaid to rival Tyler's).

Tyler and daddy's favorite new game- SUPER BABY!!!!!
Gotta love the "cape" (aka, backwards bib)

  1. Wow! I don't know who to feel sorrier for--Tyler with his boo-boos, Oscar with his toothache, Mom for getting thrown up on, or Austin for getting drooled on! Thanks for the update:-) Hugs all around!
