Dad's burping Tyler.

Tyler dressed for an outing to the neighbor's house. We went next door to "celebrate" Kyle and Krystal running the Monument 10K race (ie, post-race drinks and lunch)!

Road Trip #2

Tyler and mom took off to Windsor, NC on an overnight visit to Winston and Kristin on Tuesday. The moms have been looking forward to this playdate since we first found out we were pregnant!! We were sad to leave dad behind (he had to work)- but we've returned safely and are a happy family unit once again ;)
While at Kristin's we borrowed her baby scales... Tyler now (unofficially) weighs 10 pounds and 8 ounces!!! We have grown SO much in 6 1/2 weeks! Mom thinks we may be going through a growth spurt as we write... Tyler's eating more often than his usual every 3 hours today!

Winston and Tyler- happy as little clams together!

And the progression...
Winston: "What is he DOING??"
Tyler: "I will eat you!!" (not sure why??)

Winston: "Ewww... get him off of me!!"
Tyler: "Hurmph... this doesn't taste like mommy..."

Alas, we're all still friends :) No permanent damage done. Mom's going to work on the "no biting" rule as soon as we can talk and understand language!! Apparently we've got an early problem on our hands!!

Road Trip!!

We went on our first road trip this past weekend!! We travelled three hours south to Greenville, NC to see our great-grandma Jackie!! She has been waiting anxiously to meet us for a long time now, and we felt we were old enough to make the trip (6 whole weeks old)! While we were there we had a "sip-and-see" and met most of grandma Jackie's girlfriends from Greenville. Though mom was worried that Tyler might get over-stimulated and become fussy, we were thrilled Tyler put his best face forward. He was quite the angel, and everyone thought he was such a sweet, handsome little man :)

Tyler with great-grandma Jackie.

Four generations together at last!

After the sip-and-see, Kristin and Winston stopped by!!! You can see how happy the mommies are to finally get together post-pregnancy! Kristin is holding Tyler and I've got Winston. We hope they will become fast friends and become great playmates in the future!

My first moments meeting Winston. He's still sleepy from the car ride over... what a cutie pie!!

Kristin's first "hello" with Tyler.

Austin pulling double-duty holding both Winston and Tyler. He was understandably nervous when we threatened to go have a girls afternoon (kidding, of course)!

Tyler's Favorite Uncle Brett came home just for the day on Sunday before we returned home. What a great uncle to travel all that way in one day, just for us :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

We're wearing one of our favorites- our green froggies- in honor of St. Patty's Day!
Really mom- so many pictures??
Special Happy Birthday to Kristin- we can't wait for you to meet Tyler, and for us to finally meet Winston- just two days away!! We can't wait for your visit :)

Katie and McLean's Visit

Tyler had his first "play date" this morning! Katie was in town visiting her inlaws, so we were very lucky to be able to meet Miss McLean this early in her little life! We think she is just adorable and sweet as can be. She was a beautiful little sleeper for most of her visit, but decided to open those big blue eyes just in time for a few photos! Baby swap! Katie's holding Tyler and I've got McLean! Love the dueling passies!

McLean and Tyler. Not our most attractive photo, but that's all we got this time!! Perhaps we can pull this back out 18 years from now if they become classmates together at UNC??
We hope Pullen, Katie, and McLean had safe travels back to Charleston, SC on this nasty rainy day! We're jealous you get to go home to a warm beach!

Congrats Colleen!!!

Mom and Tyler want to send an early shout-out to our good friend Colleen!! Happy St. Patrick's Day, and yeah for new grandbaby!!! Let us know the name soon :)

Mom is sorry for failing to take a picture of Colleen and Tyler for our blog- we'll get one before too long :P

Go Cats!!

This is especially for our Kentucky family- Good luck to the Cats in the game today against Ole Miss. We'll be rooting for you in the SEC tourney.

Note, however, the look of confusion on Tyler's face. He says, "This is NOT my UNC onsie. What happened to the onsie??" Not to worry- it will be back tomorrow as the Heels take on the winner of the VA Tech/Miami game!!

And another shout-out to dad... Good luck on your second day of boards today. You can do it!!

Good Luck Dad!!

We're thinking of you as you take Step 3 Boards today and tomorrow!! We know you'll do great!! We love you :)

Happy Moments!

Tyler's snug as a bug in his new sweater, knitted by Grandma Jackie. It was a chilly morning in the house- the weather outside can't make up its mind on hot or cold- so we thought we'd try on our sweater. He's grown so much in a month! It's hard to believe this already fits!!
Shortly after this photo we had a meltdown on our playmat- Tyler decidedly does NOT like is tummy time, which is difficult for mom. Without it he'll never develop his motor skills, but he cries the entire time! After five minutes of wailing we gave up, and naptime quickly followed.

UNC vs Duke game... GO HEELS!!!

Tyler is just over one month old now, and we have not gone more than two days without a visitor to the house!! Next week we have NO visits planned until Sunday- six full days of empty house! Will we be happy to have the peace and quiet? Lonely? Will mom be frazzled without any help? Will I finally venture to the grocery store with Tyler?

We do look forward to Sunday. Tyler has his very first playdate- with a young lady no less!! McLean, we can't wait to meet you!!

Tyler in his lucky UNC onsie... GO HEELS!!! BEAT DUKE!!!!

Grandma and Grandpa Williams are SO proud of themselves. They hoped a Duke bib could trump the powers of the UNC onsie, but they were oh so wrong. UNC prevails once more!! But they were happy while their short-lived Duke influence lasted...

The proud parents after UNC beat Duke. Thanks once again, Tyler, for offering the good luck of the UNC onsie. We've yet to lose while you're wearing it. Will it take us all the way during March Madness?? We can only hope!!

We need to thank the nice ladies two doors down for giving us this precious pea-in-a-pod hand knit hat. We have new admirers and potential babysitters! They are in love with Tyler's cuteness already :)

Grandma Linda's visit

Tyler's hanging out in his stroller, enjoying Richmond's first 80 degree weather for the year. While Tyler's living the high life and baring those cute chicken legs, mom and dad slaved in the yard cleaning up after the snow storm!

We had a wonderful visit with grandma Linda- Tyler loves being held now to the point that we can't put him down when he's awake!! Whatever are we going to do...

Both Tyler and grandma were SO sad when the visit was over and it was time to say goodbye! (sorry Linda- Austin made me do it!)

Playtime!!

After a week from hell (close your ears, Tyler), we think we may be back to normal thanks to mom's diet of bland chicken and white rice. We're not sure what the actual culprit was, but we're not taking any chances yet. Tonight's menu: bland chicken and plain pasta. No more gas!!
Thanks to a cry-free morning, mom was able to put Tyler down some. We tried out our new play mat and listened to baby Mozart. Though Tyler can't focus on the toys yet, it did keep him quiet and fuss-free for a good 30 minutes.
Well, we were fuss-free until mom put me on my tummy for the second time (we enjoyed the first time). I may be a little unhappy, but look how strong I am- my head is fully off the pillow!! No floppy neck for us :)

Tyler's First Snow!!

Huge snowflakes falling last night when mom went to buy more Mylicon gas relief drops for Tyler around 7pm.
The house as of 10am this morning. The snow has since begun to fall again- I think our total is suposed to be 4-6 inches.

Time with Grandpa and Grandma Peat and Uncle Alex

Although Sunday was a nasty day outside, with sleet turning into snow here in Richmond, inside the Peat household all was warm and cozy. Tyler began the day with another bout of gas pains, although still not as bad as they were a few days ago. Mom's convinced it's dad's (delicious) vegetable dish he makes for dinner that's doing the damage. We're going to avoid that for awhile...

As soon as Grandpa Ken, Grandma JayCee, and Uncle Alex arrived Tyler started to feel better!! Nothing like company to get Tyler on his best behavior :) We had a lovely lunch at the house, and Tyler enjoyed being cuddled by his Kitty Hawk family. Sadly their visit was a short one- the weather was making a turn for the worse, and Alex has school tomorrow!

After a morning of crying, Tyler is out like a light for the latter half of the visit. Fortunately, he was awake when they first arrived so they could see his big, beautiful eyes!

Tyler enjoying his naptime in JayCee's loving arms!

The later in the afternoon it got, the heavier Tyler slept! Here he's with Uncle Alex, stretched out to the max with his arms above his head. Everyone loves an adorable sleeping baby, but mom wonders- will he sleep at all tonight??

Best wishes to dad tomorrow- He takes Step 3 board exams Monday and Tuesday!! Mom has total night duty Sunday and Monday nights (dad needs to be rested for his exam), so pray for Tyler to sleep well... mom's not a late night person! It could get ugly...
