3 Months Old

Tyler is 3 months old on Friday! He is making many strides in growth and development, but mom is still frustrated with our lack of schedule and routine. Daycare has thrown a serious wrench in the routine we had established. At this point our every evening holds a different time schedule and different bedtime because we can't seem to get a consistant feeding routine. Tyler's started waking at night again- which may just be a 3 month growth spurt... who knows! More info to follow concerning how the three day weekend goes with mom at the helm and trying (perhaps miserably failing) to get us back on track. pics to follow.

New Accomplishments!!

Tyler can sit up in his Bumboo chair without help! He's still got a little bit of a bobble-head, but overall he's got great neck control now.
Thanks to Kristie for our great chair! We're sure to use it frequently from now on!

Tyler sat in his chair in the kitchen while mom and dad worked on dinner. This lasted about 7 minutes :P Then the exhaustion from all the hard work (holding up that heavy head) finally set in!

Tyler's robe... thank you Margaret for the cozy post-bath lounging! Also, Tyler's enjoying his new baby rattle from Memrie and Waighty Scales. He can't figure out how to make it chime, but loves the sound of it if I help him out!

Pa Joe and JayCee Visit

Today Tyler met Pa Joe for the first time! JayCee was returning from a visit in Lexington with Pa Joe, and they just couldn't pass through Richmond without stopping to say hello :) We were thrilled to see them both!

Tummy Time Improvements

Although Tyler still hates tummy time, we're finally having some success with his core strength! He's showing improvement... finally!

We're fairly sure Tyler is in the midst of a growth spurt. He's waking up at night again for the first time in a few weeks, and just had a full meal only one hour after the last. We're going to increase his daily meals (again)- up to six ounces per bottle now- and hope he goes back to sleeping better soon :) Grow Tyler Grow!

Trip to Durham

We had a wonderful visit to Durham this past weekend for Kelly and Justin's engagement party. Many thanks to Barbie for allowing all of us to stay in her house- you're a trouper!! Tyler continues to grow every day- it seems like every time I get him from daycare he looks different! I'm a little worried about Tyler's increasing fussiness... we're going to monitor his eating and fussy times carefully- we are trying to avoid a switch in formula (since daycare only provides the kind he is on now). More details to follow...

Feeling very old with a stoller on campus :)

1st trip to Bojangle's

Tyler enjoyed his first trip to dad's favorite place... Bojangle's!!! We couldn't let this monumentous event go by without a post to the blog :P

Grandma and Grandpa Seitz Visit

Somehow I failed miserably in getting some happy family photos together of Jeff and Linda's visit. My fault completely... apologies to grandma and grandpa. But we had a wonderful weekend visit together. Tyler thoroughly enjoyed the company and thought they were wonderful babysitters during the parents' date night :)

Sorry guys... I promise to try to do better with photos next time. We had a wonderful weekend- thanks for taking your time off to come and visit us :P

Sleeping Through the Night!!

Last night, much to our pleasant surprise, Tyler slept 10 hours through the night without waking!! He had his last meal at 8:30pm, went to bed around 10pm, and didn't wake up until 8:30 this morning-- Yeah! Now we just hope we can repeat that tonight...

Just before our first dinner on the patio for this season! We enjoyed a beautiful 80 degree day and ended it with steaks and asparagus on the grill. Tyler has some yummy food to look forward to :)

Happy baby! Hangin' out with daddy.

Earlier in the day... halftime of Alex's lacross game, getting some relief from the heat in the shade.

Watching the lacross game with dad, trying not to get sunburned.

Easter Sunday

Mom went a little camera crazy and took lots of pictures in our "formal" wear that hasn't come out of the drawers yet :) We finally found an occasion- Easter!! And not a moment too soon- they all fit (almost too) perfectly. We probably won't get a chance to wear these again...

Feltman Bros outfit from Betty Dees

Blue formal dress from Anne Daniel.
(Dad's not a fan of the "girly" outfit- don't tell!)

Smocked Kissy-Kissy outfit from Linda Blount
(gotta love the spit bubbles... Tyler's getting good at these!)

Dad and Tyler at the Easter on Parade on Monument Avenue. We took a break from the stroller to sit and listen to the band on the porch behind Austin and eat a little lunch.

Playtime with dad

Hanging out in the new swing. We're not sure if this is going to be a success yet.

Williams Family Visit

Great-grandma Bobbie came down from Connecticut to visit us this past weekend. We were thrilled to see her and glad she was able to work us into her southern travel plans.

Vaccine Day

Tyler had his two month well baby visit today (though he is 9 weeks old today). It went very well! He is now 11 pounds 8 ounces (50th percentile) and 24 inches long (90th)- so he is still long and lean for a little baby! We're slowly packing on the pounds and getting the baby fat on those bones :) Also at today's visit, Tyler had his first big round of vaccines. He had four shots- two in each thigh- and one oral vaccine. He took them like a champ- only crying briefly. I thought we'd beat the odds and Tyler would breaze through... but then around 2:30 he had a melt down! We cheated and gave him more Tylenol 30 minutes early... it did the trick!

Much to our relief, Tyler is also beginning to sleep better through the night. He usually goes down around 8:30, is woken for a nightcap around 10, and is sleeping until around 6am!! We hope the trend continues and Tyler continues to sleep more soundly.

Tyler's melt down. He was obviously in pain! If only you could hear what I did... the picture does NOT do it justice!

About 25 minutes after the Tylenol- relief!

Happier days- pictures grandma Jackie took while mom was at work on Thursday.

2 Month Birthday

Tyler is 8 weeks old today- time has flown by so quickly!! He grows and changes daily- his little personality is starting to come out. He is a sweetie and has a very good temperment for most of the day, though he does get a little fussy in the evenings before bedtime. He's going to sleep around 8:30 most nights (though I wake him at 10 to eat before I go to bed) and then he wakes once at night to eat. Mom's finally feeling more rested and normal- we're getting the hang of this! Tyler is smiling more and is very verbal during the day- he loves to coo and make noises. Next Friday we have our two month check-up.. so stay tuned for the weight and length update!

Tyler can't sit up on his own yet- he's propped up here- but showing his cute smile!!

It was absolutely pouring rain this morning, so mom decided we'd put on our galoshes. They're a wee bit large... we'll have to wait a few years before we go outside in these :)

Mom is SO ready to go to the beach, so I thought we'd get Tyler in the mood as well! We're short a bathing suit, but we're working on that!

Mom thought we'd see if Tyler enjoys his rattle toys yet. Surprisingly, he could hold the rattle for a short time- but isn't really playing with it yet. He could care less about the big, soft rattle ball :)

Mom tried to see if Tyler was strong enough to sit up in his bugaboo chair, but he is most certainly not (yet). Note the pillow behind him propping up his head! Tyler does well with his head and neck strength if you're holding him, but he's got a ways to go on the core and back strength before he can manage on his own. Notice how he's got one eyebrow raised- a trick he inherited from daddy :)
