Memorial Day Weekend

We spent Memorial Day in Kitty Hawk at Grandpa Ken and Mimi's (JayCee's) house. Nana and Grandpa Mark came to visit as well since it was mom's birthday!! Mom was happy to have so much family with her to celebrate her big 30th!!!

The pool scene

Snack time. We LOVED the new pool shoes that kept Tyler from slipping or feeling the hot cement!!!

No... Tyler has not gained that much weight!! He has a belly full of swallowed pool water from all the swimming with daddy! LOTS of wet diapers in the following few days!!

Fun with daddy, zooming around the pool on the float!!! Laughter all around!

Zoom Zoom!

Lunch Break

It's SO hot out here!

Mimi brought out a popsickle to help with the heat, but Tyler wasn't very interested in it...

hanging out with Grandpa Mark

fun with dad and Grandpa Ken

relaxation

loving the view from up high

sharing ice with Grandpa Mark- Tyler's favorite way to cool down!

throwing the ball to Lucky in the pool

SO sad to be leaving Monday afternoon.
We made it the entire weekend without any major boo boos until the last five minutes we were outside at the pool... Tyler tripped and fell at the steps of the pool and bit his lip on the way down. There was lots of blood and it was scary for a moment until Tyler calmed down, but this was just one of many tumbles our big boy will eventually take. His lip is healing well and he's probably forgotten all about it already.

Smiling for the camera, booboo and all!
It was a rough first few days back at daycare... Tyler has moved up to the "Junior Toddler's" room on the second floor of daycare!! Our little man is a baby no more!! Tyler has had his first major bouts of separation anxiety in the mornings at drop off, since none of his surroundings are the same anymore. He clings to me like a little monkey and cries until I am gone, which is so sad for mom!! His new teachers, Dana and Erica, assure me he does just fine 60 seconds after I'm gone and has a wonderful time running around his new big-boy playground and sliding down the slide with his new (and older!) buddies. He will be in this group until his is 2 years old. It's lots of fun for him- they spend an hour, twice a day outside on the playground. Once a week they bring out the sprinklers and have water play wearing swimsuits and water shoes! They have a bunny and two birds and a turtle to play with, and a giant castle to roam around when the weather outside is bad. What could be better??? Tyler is EXHAUSTED and cranky in the evenings due to all this new and exciting play, keeping up with the older kids... we'll see how long it takes until we settle into a new rhythm :)

All done! Such a big boy now!

Where'd it all go??
It's a little short in front for mom's tastes, but that will give it time to grow before next time!!

Back at home, ready for bed (and dad's leaving for work)!
