Irish Festival

Tyler and mom playing in the front yard on Friday before going to daycare for the afternoon so mom could get a few things done.

SO curious about all the new sounds (that he finally seems to hear since his tubes were placed)!

"Okay... I have the keys!! It's time to go!!"

Family outing to the Irish Festival. Tyler had a lot of fun exploring and sightseeing (in the beginning...)

Watching with fascination as the bagpipers go by.

Rocking with the band. Tyler loves to dance to music!

Being social and getting the adoration of strangers :)
However.............
This was shortly before Tyler had a major meltdown. We were infringing upon Tyler's naptime, and though he seemed a little tired he was doing really well until somebody flipped a switch--- and he had the meltdown of all meltdowns (in public, OF COURSE). He started screaming and arching his back (with no real warning), so we decided to leave... of course... but not soon enough. Tyler vomitted ALL OVER mommy's front- twice- in the middle of thousands. We high tailed it to the car to leave as mom held Tyler closely in attempts to hide the spaghetti-ohs that were dripping down our shirts and legs. We learned a valuable lesson- don't steal Tyler's naptime!!!!!!

Dad's ticking mom off by taking a picture and telling her to show the nastiness on the front of her shirt that Tyler's body is hiding.
Poor Tyler was fast asleep thirty seconds later in his carseat and all was forgiven and forgotten when he'd woken up from a long snooze. Lesson learned all around :)

Daycare Fun

With the warmer weather Tyler and his buddies have been spending lots of time outside in their wonderful playground.

Mid-afternoon drop off so that mom could go to a doctor's appointment.

Outside with Tyler's long-time bud, Gabby- his only friend from his infant room that followed him to his pre-toddler room.

The playground for pre-toddlers. The well-manicured area has flowers and a gazebo with a bench swing that the kids love to sit and relax on.

Even though mom stuck around for some pictures and to hang out for a few minutes, independent Tyler took off to do his own thing! Off to play...

Enjoying his friends.

Spring-Like Weekend

It's FINALLY warming up and the snow has melted away from the Richmond parking lots!!! We made the best of a warm weekend and spent lots of time outside. Saturday mom spent a LOT of time cleaning up the yard and raking up the gum balls. Sunday we went on a family walk with the new Radio Flyer wagon to the park across the street. Tyler loved walking around and looking at the other children playing. He played on the slides and swings before coming home for a much needed lunch and nap.

This is Saturday after Tyler's nap, and once the yard had been picked up. Spring cleaning (outside) accomplished!!

Pretoddler Olympics

Tyler's daycare held a "Pretoddler Olympics Day" in honor of the 2010 winter Olympics. They were asked to wear red, white, and blue to class. They had a foot race and a Kix eating contest :) To my knowledge Tyler didn't "win" any of the competitions, but he looked adorable in his new sweatshirt we brought him from Utah.

Last few weeks...

We've been busy, busy, busy!!! I've fallen behind on posting pics in the midst of all the craziness- Sorry!!

The Canyon's Ski Resort ouside of Salt Lake City, Utah. Mom and dad took a much needed mini-vacation at the end of February.

I felt like a snowman-- all bundled up to stay warm!

Dad looking much more stylish in his shades

The Peats made a visit last weekend (since they sadly missed Tyler's birthday due to the terrible road conditions during the snow storm). We were thrilled to see them!!! We wish we saw them more often- and hopefully will with the warm weather coming back to the beach.

Another birthday cupcake from grandma JayCee!! It was covered in Lucky Charms, and Tyler LOVED it :)

yummy!

New puppy birthday gift

Froggy pull toy gift

Froggy toy- it "hops" when you walk with it :)

Vacation with Nana

While mom and dad went on a mini-ski vacation Tyler was in Greenville with Nana. So we didn't miss him too much, Nana (grandma Jackie) was kind enough to take pictures and email them to us each day we were apart. Here is a selection:

a serious cow-lick the first morning!!

play date with Chloe (with a spread of Puffs and Cheerios!)

the cheapest toys always seem to be the best....
Tyler is walking very well now!!

when will you be home guys??

Morning pics with mom, before the festivities began!

Valentine's Day Weekend

Super Bowl Sunday morning... Tyler's first walk in his new Radio Flyer wagon. Burrrr!!! It was cold, but he wouldn't let go of his reindeer Pez dispenser (favorite toy du jour).

Super Bowl neutral, wearing orange (but not-so-secretly rooting for the Saints. Yeah New Orleans!!)

Enjoying the new birthday toys. Tyler LOVES to play with his puzzle pieces, though by banging them together rather than putting them in their correct place :) LOTS of noise around the house (mom's getting more frequent headaches!).

Yet ANOTHER Richmond snow. This is a picture (I'm at a red light and not in a hurry to move) early Wednesday morning. Even though we "only" got about 4 inches of snow this time, it was by FAR the worst road conditions. We took it very, very slow to daycare and work- and passed more accidents than we could count. I was nervous!!! We learned the hard way that less snow does not necessarily mean better roads...

Friday before Valentine's... learning to open the snack container to get yummy yougart puffs.

Is it really all gone?!?!? Tyler's enjoying daddy's raisin bran (and working on his much improved standing balance).

Yummy!

ROAR!!!! We came home from a Sunday morning walk (dad was at work) to find a new birthday gift in our front door- an adorable hand monogrammed lion shirt from Miss Lucy (next door neighbor). Here, Tyler is getting into his role!

Banging his "cymbols", aka wooden puzzle pieces.

Close-up of new shirt

Another new skill this weekend- Tyler can now stand up on his own (without furniture or mommy help) to begin walking! It won't be long before he's running :) We know we're a bit behind our good friends Winston and McLean, but Tyler's made a LOT of progress in this last week! He can now walk about five or six feet at a time!

walking, usually with toy in hand (Stormy the Bear is another favorite... Uncle Brett :P)

Not sure what this is about, but it's cute :)

Practicing mowing the lawn with the talking mower from Mack and Kara (across the street neighbors). They thoughtfully thought Tyler would like to help us in the spring, since we're known to spend a lot of time in the yard. The talking mower cracks mom and dad up far more than it amuses Tyler:
"Power up... it's LUNCH time; Mmm... this grass is goooood; Let's give this lawn a good shave; Power down... this lawn is perfect"
